Thornhill - Full Length

Reported anonymously at 13:45, Tue 2 October 2018

Good afternoon. I'd like to report serious degradation of the road surface in Thornhill, Thornborough. I have counted 70 independent holes, many of which are significant potholes. The worst degradation occurs from the junction with Nash Road down approximately 2/3 the full length of Thornhill to where the bungalows start. The attached photos illustrate the spread of degradation/potholes which have been present for several years with degradation become more serious throughout 2018. Driving along Thornhill is very difficult to do without your vehicle crashing unavoidably into potholes every time. As these holes are unavoidable it is causing unacceptable wear and tear to residents' vehicles every time they leave and return to their properties. There are simply too many holes and areas of surface-failure to avoid/drive-around, nor is it safe to try to do so. This is a source of frustration for all residents in the road who feel that remediation has been overlooked on several occasions, particularly when sections of The Green in the center of the village were resurfaced this summer with little apparent need for it - certainly the surface there was in better condition than that of Thornhill. I note that 2 potholes in Thornhill at the junction with Nash Road were filled in w/e 28th Sep 2018 but the remainder have been inexplicably left as is with no further remediation/resurfacing work apparently planned for the future, according to roadworks.org. Please can the road condition be reviewed as soon as possible with a view to resurfacing or at the very least the filling of the holes as soon as is practicable? Sincere thanks.
