Extensive removal of verge by owner Reported by Simon v Rhodes at 15:25, Thu 3 June 2021 The OS Map ref: 100025874 E: 488009.01 N:201082.82 The subject map on the Planning Portal, “Planning – Application Map” For PL/20/4250/Conda, reveals the true extend of the width of the verge that should exist and formerly existed outside the subject property. It can be seen the tarmac section of the highway is of uniform width and there is no widening of it at any point outside the property. The highway verge here, below the bank that underpinned the double row of hedging, used to be mown by the previous owner. What we see today is removal of over a metre width of verge and extending to removal of two metre width of verge at the R.H. side of the front elevation, where the bank has been eaten into and mature tree roots damaged. Please instruct the owner to secure the restoration of this verge, it is an important pollinating servicing habitat to the adjacent predominantly arable landscape.
