Flood issue in Denham Lane

Reported anonymously at 14:10, Mon 11 October 2021

Report from resident 11th Oct 2021: Thank you for your email and update, very much appreciated. I can confirm that the gully was attended to on the 8th Oct at approx 1430hrs. I am not sure what the required standard of cleaning/clearing gullys is, but I would of thought that the idea of doing so is to enable water to drain away. I took a photo of the drain after the service lorry moved away. (I have attached a copy for your reference). As can be seen in the picture the water is still not draining away. This is the issue that exists when it rains. I do understand that there has to be a process of elimination and that digging up the roads is a last resort, but in this case I honestly believe that the only way to deal with this issue is to investigate the structural soundness of the drainage system. It really does not work. I will continue to monitor and if I may report back when further rain falls. If this were just the road being effected I could understand, but the whole footpath is taken out of use when this occurs and causes an impact on school children, parents, other footpath users, not to mention road users. It is very dark at night at this particular point and there lies a risk of vehicles aquaplaning. Surely with so many safety considerations there needs to be some sort of further assessment. Thank you for your time in reading this
