Wendover Rd, Stoke Mandeville between Station Rd roundabout and Hampden Hall roundabout

Reported anonymously at 13:29, Fri 26 November 2021

My family and I have lived on Wendover Rd, Stoke Mandeville for over 20 years. We would like the part of Wendover Rd between the Station Rd and Hampden Hall roundabouts, which is built-up on both sides and yet still signed as 40mph, to be designated a 30mph limit zone. Over the past few years the volume of traffic has significantly increased. This has become a serious problem for us recently due to the great increase in house building in Aylesbury and also the HS2 works. From around 5am there is a steady build up of traffic on Wendover road, including heavy lorries and motorbikes, which are allowed to travel along this stretch of built-up road at 40mph. This not only causes sleep disturbance and general noise pollution, but often vibration of the house itself can be felt. This problem continues throughout the day and night and also at weekends. A secondary problem is that it is difficult at times to turn into our road or come out onto Wendover Rd, due to the volume and speed of traffic here. We feel that there is a high risk of accidents. It is now necessary to reduce the speed limit here, as well as constructing new "by-pass" routes. We look forward to your correspondence.
