There is a natural spring "The Eygptian Spring) half way down the lane so water runs downhill into Lower Hartwell and weakens the tarmac. Potholes appear all the time - many of these started in February and are getting worse. When we report them to the council, they usually only mend one at a time so we have to report them again. The road is in its worst state in years, making it unsafe for residents (most of whom are very elderly), dog walkers that use the lane, and our cars. My car suspension is being damaged and I have had to have my headlights realigned because the bumpy lane damages the settings.

  • The council fixed only a a couple of the very worst potholes, leaving another 20 untouched, and so they are still doing damage to our cars and being unsafe for pedestrians. Why they didn't do the job properly I have no idea. The untouched ones have of course got worse now so we will have to call them out again.
