Highway safety - footpath on left of bridge exits straight into fast moving traffic

Reported by H Sharp at 11:10, Mon 23 October 2017

Received by Aylesbury Vale District Council and Buckinghamshire County Council moments later

Can a warning sign be put up at the top of the footpath that exits the canal on the left of the bridge. Walkers pop out straight into the traffic lane without being aware they will do so and if the traffic lights are green they could be hit as the driver may have no chance to stop. A warning sign advising to exit on the other side of the bridge or at least that there is potentially fast moving traffic immediately ahead of them would be very helpful. We saw 3 walkers with a dog do this yesterday but luckily the lights had only just changed to green so we were slow enough to stop without hitting them. Thanks
