Lack of sufficient parking to rear laneway of Oakfield Road
Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 16:45, Thu 9 November 2017
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1141597.
The laneway behind Oakfield Road and Barnsbury Avenue is meant to be for parking for residents but as families are growing more people need to park there. Most residents would have to two cars min. We are not allowed to have our own drives for some reason, which would help alleviate the problem to the rear. There are unused grass verges with weeded shrubs to the rear of the properties from Barnsbury Ave which could be used for parking if the ground was levelled and concreted/tarmacked over. We would be able to parallel park and fit more cars/vans in than we can at present. There are times when residents are having to park elsewhere due to the amount of cars taking up space there, including people who rent the garages. Nobody seems to know who owns these verges or who is responsible for the laneway. Can something be done to allow more parking for residents, even a resident permit or something?

Sorry I did not mean "parallel parking" I meant the parking where the cars are adjacent to each other in bays.

I live in Oakfield Road and totally agree with the above statement about parking. it is a joke. on top of this we now have small lorries and vans parking in the lane. dont think they belong to residents and maybe belong to a local business trying to save money on renting a yard. sometimes my wife cant squeeze past the lorries and has to park elsewhere. we have 2 children and they all have to walk quite a way to get to our house. its not right. PARK SOMEWHERE ELSE!
