Road surface in very poor condition. Uneven and in a desperate need of resurfacing. Prone to flooding throughout winter and spring. Many cars drive in the middle of the road to avoid severe damage to the edges of the carraigeway.

Bottom Lane is still full of potholes towards the end that meets at the junction of Long Bottom Lane. When it rains the holes fill easily and it becomes difficult to see if you are about to go down one or not, some cones have been put in the deeper ones but they have been there a couple of weeks now and nothing has changed. This bend has become very dangerous over the past year with the bank eroding causing stones to scatter across the road, now the potholes are an added danger.

The first 300 yards of Bottom Lane (from the Longbottom road junction) is seriously degraded and in the wet causes my car to skid towards oncoming traffic. Complaints about this logged in April have been neglected by the Council ! Also the farm hedge on the east side is overgrown so that when cars pass in the narrow lane the northbound car is forced into the hedge causing body scratches.
