Whole length of Austenwood Close
Reported in the Road surface category by Rod Thomas at 16:44, Mon 10 September 2018
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 1409169.
In this short c200m close there are in excess of 30 potholes, some down to base layer. Due to its proximity to St Joseph's school it is heavily used twice a day and being only two car widths across these potholes are hit and enlarged by the vehicles daily. This has been a longstanding issue and it is noticable that roads directly accessing schools, like Priory Road, Chalfont St Peter and Woodside Avenue, Chesham Bois have been resurfaced whilst the only attention this road has received in recent years has been the occasional fill of a pothole with loose tarmac which is immediately emptied by vehicle traffic. The pavement, too, has holes with loose gravel causing danger to pedestrians especially at night, and wheelchairs/pushchairs.

As mentioned above, the road gets heavy use twice a day from school traffic, see photo. It was unfortunate that repair/resurfacing wasn't put in hand during the summer holidays when there was little traffic. To give an indication of traffic, there were 27 cars parked in the road this afternoon, all of which would have to drive up to the 'banjo' to turn round and drive back.
