Beaconsfield High School turning circle kerb
Reported in the Kerb damage / issue category anonymously at 14:04, Mon 29 October 2018
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 1448541.
Beaconsfield High School turning circle kerb is in a bad state of repair and has been for over a year despite being reported before. It is a normal pavement really but following development on site, it became busier and is now badly damaged. There is also a missing bollard - removed for the building work and never replaced meaning that cars cut the corner.

Dangerous road surface for both pedestrians and drivers entering or leaving the school.

As a parent with two children at Beaconsfield High School, I am concerned that someone is going to injure themselves seriously. The congestion on this road is already a problem and poor maintenance of roads only adds to the issues.

This is a dangerous spot for cars and walkers to the school alike, and needs to be fixed as a matter or priority.

When entering the school with another car exiting, this hole is unavoidable and causes damage to tyres and suspension. In attempting to avoid this, drivers' attention is not fully applied to the surroundings, which for a school, is particularly dangerous. If there are no cars exiting and one attempts to avoid the hole, the road positioning is suboptimal and the path of a vehicle moving in such a way is unexpected for pedestrians.

This is very dangerous for pedestrians and cars. It's only a matter of time before someone gets injured!

Pedestrians including buggies have to swerve into the turning circle or road, very dangerous. Also, having successfully claimed for £ '00s of wheel damage from Bucks Council, the cost of not fixing this is far greater. Thanks

It is unbelievable that such a dangerous pothole has been left to extend and deepen for so long. The area is immensely busy and this hazard causes cars to swerve to avoid their cars being damaged - in doing so, they block the already congested Wattleton Road, move into traffic exiting the school or wait until they can pull in avoiding the hole but once again blocking the road. The girls have to walk around the hole so are forced to walk nearer the curb where cars are manoeuvring around parked cars, girls crossing the road and cars turning into the car park. Someone is going to get hurt - please raise this as a priority repair as it is a child who is going to get hurt sooner or later.

This pothole has been growing week by week and it is appalling that children, staff and parents are expected to take such risks in navigating the area either by foot or car. Please rectify this as soon as possible before an accident occurs.

It is shocking the pothole hasn't been addressed sooner. It is disgraceful that it has been left to get larger and more dangerous to all the children crossing its path as well as causing damage to the cars that are constantly having to avoid its path!

This has been an issue for months and months and needs to be repaired as soon as possible. When turning into the school car park, people swerve to avoid it which creates a dangerous situation if girls are walking out of school or if another car is exiting the car park.

I'm extremely concerned that this dangerous pothole has not been fixed yet. This is an extremely busy road with 3 schools and drivers should not be forced to divert their attention from pedestrians by having to navigate this hazard. It is shocking that priority has not been given to this issue.

I personally reported this pot-hole on fix-my-street over 6 months ago as it was so bad - its so much worse now as it is driven over many times each school day - it is impossible to avoid it if you are going in and another car is coming out - I am so surprised someone hasn't tripped over already - but I think another issue is since the re-development of this entrance into the drop-off turning circle (which used to be just an exit) the drop kerb wasn't moved to make it wide enough for vehicles to go in and out at the same time

The size and location of this pothole makes it particularly dangerous. It also adds to the traffic congestion because it is is difficult for two cars to pass. Please kindly fix this as soon as possible.

This should be fixed as soon as possible due to health and safety. Particularity as it outside a school with constant traffic through out the day. Please let us not wait until this causes a serious accident.

Very dangerous for children especially with dark nights. An accident waiting to happen

Please address this immensely dangerous situation with immediate attention. As a parent to a student as school I am alarmed at how fellow students have to walk to close to incoming/outgoing traffic to avoid the ever increasing pothole. Cars are having to swerve at severe angles to avoid the pit in the road.

My main concern over this pothole is that drivers are looking at the pothole and where best to manoeuvre their cars so as to avoid it, rather than paying attention to pedestrians. With so many schools nearby on an already busy road this is very dangerous and needs to be fixed as soon as possible.

This particular pothole (over 1m wide x 400 dp?) is directly in the path of cars entering the school site out-of-hours and in the dark. In poor light, this presents a serious and ongoing risk of (a) injury to persons (pedestrians), (b) injury to persons (car drivers) and (c) damage to property (cars).

This is a very dangerous wide and deep pothole that appears to be getting worse. It is extremely dangerous with the nights closing in - its dangerous for pedestrians and drivers like. It's not well lit at night and there are so many children using this entrance/exit during school hours. Please don't wait until an accident occurs until the problem is fixed. Please escalate as a matter of urgency.

This pothole is getting worse. As well as being a dangerous distraction for drivers turning into the school it is dangerous for children heading to the primary school next door, particularly those on scooters, who are tripped up by the pothole, into the path of the cars turning. It is only a matter of time before someone is seriously hurt.
