On the junction between Kingsway/Packhorse Road and Austenwood Common

Reported in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 12:09, Sun 2 December 2018

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council 1 minute later

This drain seems to block very regularly, which results in very large puddles when it rains. The puddles are so big that they block the pavement, which forces pedestrians on to the slippery verge. This isn’t ideal when trying to walk boys to Thorpe House school, which is around the corner, especially for those with a buggy. It also causes a safety issue for drivers going through the puddles. I’m not sure whether the drain is on the list to be checked regularly? There are lots of trees around it, which makes it more likely to block during autumn. Please could someone take a look it it urgently? Many thanks, Sophie

  • This drain remains blocked and this morning (4th February) both lanes of Packhorse Road were flooded. During the morning rush hour, cars were passing slowly one vehicle at a time through the high water. The traffic was backing up with some drivers very cautious and others not wanting to wait increasing the likelihood of accidents. In addition, for those passing on foot on either pavements could find themselves getting very wet. It has been two months since this was reported and the road has been flooded several times since. In my opinion, the drain needs to be cleared as a matter of urgency
