Outside No.35

Reported in the Pothole category anonymously at 17:42, Fri 8 March 2019

Received by Buckinghamshire Council moments later

Fix my street. Surely Dukes Wood Avenue is due for major repair and complete resurfacing? It is a cracked, slumped, patchwork of pot holes. Not funny. Outside No.35 in the middle of the road are a series of particularly treacherous potholes. Cycling behind my son overtaking parked cars, I watched him hit the potholes and fall in the road. Sprawling on his back in front of traffic, only good fortune saved him from being run over. This is the second time I have watched my son hit potholes and fall off in Dukes Wood Avenue, the last time his bicycle crank had to be replaced. I have now banned him from cycling. Even though Dukes Wood Avenue is the route many children take to the East Common underpass on their way to school. A school that encourages parents not to drive and drop off, yet cycling is incredibly hazardous for children, because of the appalling road surface. Overseas visitors recently commented our road is worse than those in a developing country. Surely time to totally resurface and put a stop to this danger. I challenge any of you to cycle our road. If you dare or are crazy enough then try in the darkness of our under lit street. Please fix my street before we have a tragic accident. Best regards, Andy Portch 19 Dukes Wood Avenue
