Pavement
Reported via iOS in the Footpath / pavement problem category anonymously at 14:15, Fri 19 July 2019
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1702150.
Value for money is not always a quantative concept, but it is, more or less, universally understood.
It’s a shame that this app only allows 3 pictures in one report, as there is seemingly unlimited examples of issues I feel compelled to report, so this effort here is not aimed at solving a particular problem with the pavement in sticking plaster style, but a more general appraisal of the work only recently carried out to resurface the pavement/footpath/sidewalks of both sides of Chapel Street Marlow.
It was only a matter of weeks before troubles began to set in following the aforementioned works on Chapel Street, and things only seem to be getting worse.
The slabs were laid straight onto a sand bed which washes away with every rain shower and the slabs not broken by their uneven fitting are left to rock up and down like excited see-saws after school time...
To top it all off, when these constantly recurring problem areas are report here, via this app, the repairs are made with replacement slabs of both differing colour and texture, thus rendering the entire object of rejuvenating or refreshing the pavement rather fruitless!
If this was my patio paid out with my money, the contractor would have to redo the whole job because the level of quality of this particular job is far worse than unacceptable not least because I would be as insufficiently interested in getting someone back each month to fix things as I would be in drilling into my eyeball but also because I would have felt that I had paid enough already...
Or in other words... what has come before.... was definitely NOT value for money!

This has been a problem since the summer- the pavement from Marks and Spencer to Phase Eight and the opposite side of the road all along to Sainsburys is dangerous- all paving slabs appear to have not been cemented in properly. Is getting worse in the wet weather.
