Man hole cover at entrance to Wharf Lane
Reported in the Road surface category anonymously at 12:57, Tue 13 August 2019
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council 3 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1730528.
Ref no 40108855. I reported the noisy manhole cover outside our house. It has supposedly been inspected and the case closed with no further action. Apart from the fact that I am disgusted with the dismissive way this has been dealt with, this cover IS a nuisance. The cover rattles EVERY time a car drives over it. It is positioned close to The Parade in Bourne End. Every car that turns into Wharf Lane goes over this cover (& some positioning to turn right). Bearing in mind that we have the busy Hawrthornden doctor’s surgery within yards, also that Wharf Lane provides access to the river, along with residents of Southbourne Drive (which has no other access) this is an extremely busy stretch of road. My husband has just counted 3 rattles in 10 seconds whilst I am writing this. This noise also continues throughout the night and, although more intermittent, actually makes it more disturbing. Our 80plus year old neighbour recently mentioned this to us. I would ask that your department come to reinspect this situation and perhaps even do us the courtesy of speaking with us. 01628 526008 / 07738 171962. Thank you Dave and Tracy Cubitt
