Junction of lane from Ibstone with Fingest lane
Reported in the Road lines / road markings category by Paul Smith at 11:13, Wed 28 August 2019
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1747068.
We have just endured the latest vehicle accident at this junction. There have been over 20 such incidents in recent years, some involving emergency services. We have had everything from several vehicle write-offs to a vehicle smashing into our two cars which were parked on our private drive. In the latest event the vehicle careered for over 30 metres from the road, smashed through a large padlocked field gate and finally came to a stop only 0.5 m from a half full fuel tank which is sited between the end two houses in the row!!! We need an urgent on-site review by your engineers before any more disasters or injuries occur. The speed restriction sign and give way signs at the junction are totally covered by foliage but they are not the cause of the problem. As an absolute minimum we need a large, clear warning sign some 200m up the hill, warning of the junction and the potential dangers. In addition, just up from the junction, the busy Chiltern Way crosses the lane. There is nothing, on both sides of the lane, to prevent adults, children or animals joining the road or being warned of the dangers of fast vehicles(up to 60mph!) or cyclists racing down the hill. Luckily, to date, only two dogs have been killed, much to the distress of there owners. We have a large collection of photos of the various accidents. Can we please have some urgent action by you.
