Both drains outside number 1 Royle Close are blocked. There was a burst water main up the road tonight, 8th September, the water was not flowing down, therefore creating a huge lake.

Please note that the above report is inaccurate. The blocked drains are outside Number 2 Royle Close and not Number 1

Dear TfB,
Please use your mailing system to foward this text below to our Local Area Technician who I understand to be John Thacary. Please extend my my apologies to John if I have spelt John's surname incorrectly. It is important that this message is sent to John.
John and I had a lengthy discussion on site today and I would like to thank him for providing some understanding of what I believe to be a well established blocked gulley issue which has caused flooding on a number of occasions over the years. I do not believe this flooding is due to a lack of drainage system capacity. I believe it to be an isolated blockage somewhere.
John and I discussed that it would appear that the two gullies on the 2 Royle Close side run via a connecting pipe to a substantial soakaway which upon visual inspection seemed to be clear of water or debris. We could not inspect the connecting pipe. The soakway did not connect onto the Joiners Lane drainage system.
It would appear that the two gullies on the 3 Royle Close side run via a connecting pipe to a substantial soakaway which upon visual inspection seemed to be clear of water or debris. We could not inspect the connecting pipe. The soakway did not connect onto the Joiners Lane drainage system.
It appeared (even though John and I could not conclude this definately) that there was probably not a connecting pipe between the gullies on the 1 Royle Close side and the 3 Royle Close side.
It is my understanding from a phone call later today with John that he will raise a works order to inspect the connecting pipe between the gullies on the 2 Royle Close side and the substantial soakaway to establish whether there is a blockage which if such a blockage existed would prevent access of water into the soakaway and hence causing the 'backing up' of water in the two gullies on the 2 Royle Close side. John advised that he could unfortunately not give a timescale on when this work would be carried out.
