The kerb on intersection of Woodside Road/Mitchell Walk
Reported in the Kerb damage / issue category anonymously at 15:14, Thu 12 September 2019
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1765430.
There is no slope onto the road, and the way this pavement is forces buggy users into the road. It is very steep and the edge is also curved which tips the buggy/pushchair into the road. I have had to grab a friends buggy before to prevent it from tipping into the road. A different friend walks down to use a driveway to cross the road as it’s safer. I wait to make sure there is no traffic on Woodside Road before I cross (even though I am of course not crossing the road!). Also, to get up the kerb you have to come at it from an angle to get all the wheels on the pavement without carrying the whole weight of the buggy. This is awkward as puts you in the traffic and you come onto the pavement onto the grass which is difficult to push the buggy. You may not see this as important as nothing is “broken” but it is a safety hazard. Also making a slope would just make life easier for all those who use wheels on the pavements. (Sorry for the lengthy explanation!)
