Water coming out of drain at corner of Dark Lane and Mill running along surface to first drain in Mii Lane
Reported in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 21:49, Mon 28 October 2019
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 1823037.
Water comes out of drain at corner of Mill Lane and Dark Lane at times of heavy rain and runs down both Mill Lane and Dark Lane. This water is unpleasant and contains silt. Water continuously flows from the Dark Lane drain to the Mill Lane drain through a buried connecting pipe. This can't cope with the quantity of water during heavy rain, hence the Dark Lane drain overflowing into Mill Lane. Transport for Bucks is aware of this issue and under Matt Whincup's supervision in 2017 attempted to clear the pipe from the Dark Lane drain to the Mill Lane drain but found it obstructed. They did their best to clear it but decided the pipe needed excavating. This has not happened yet. It seems that the connecting pipe is blocked again, hence water is running over the road surface. With winter coming there is the added possibility of this water freezing and causing a hazard at the junction of Mill Lane and Moat Lane. Hope this is of use. PS Such is the volume of water coming out of the Dark Lane drain during heavy rain that the drain in Mill Lane fails to cope, resulting in a flood in Mill Lane.

We live in Mill lane and now have a stream at the bottom of our drive from the above mentioned blocked drain. All we need now is for the drain the steam is flowing into to block, causing our neighbours gardens and garages to be flooded. This has been a constant smelly problem for several years. It is causing huge potholes at the bottom of our drives, which will only deteriorate further with freezing conditions.P.S.- potholes were due to be repaired earlier this year but this plan was put on hold - health and safety obviously not high on your priorities.

Water still coming out of drain at corner of Mill Lane and Dark Lane. Concerned that the way water is spreading across the entrance to Mill Lane and down Dark Lane there is going to be a considerable ice problem if we have freezing weather over the winter. That junction is difficult enough at the best of times without the addition of ice.
