Thank you for sending someone to look at the issue to my drive entrance created by the refugee inland that has been installed 3.8meters from my drive entrance.
However the conclusion below is far from satisfactory.
Before the island was installed I had no problem entering my drive as the with the wide road I could go slightly wide on approach and enter my drive without any problem even when returning home with a caravan in tow.
However now with the island 3.8 meters from my drive entrance we have to take great care turning in to avoid the raised kerb in a standard vehicle and I don't believe there is enough space to enter my property with the caravan from that direction at all.
As pointed out to your representative the problem created from the island position can easily be resolved by extending the drop kerb to my drive and I would argue I should not be liable to pay for a problem that has been created by the island.
I reported the problem expecting highways to acknowledge the issue caused and make arrangements to resolve it.
I have attached 2 photos of the island and drive entrance I will raise a new report with a view to getting this resolved but not at my expense.
I have no problem with the crossing placement but do not believe it should be at my detriment. Dear David Hockley, Reference report number 46069784 Thank you for your enquiry. As discussed on site we would give permission to extend the dropped kerb but it would have to be self funded . If you are unhappy with this decision you can write in to Bucks CC raising your concerns re cost
