South corner of Packhorse Road and East Common junction
Reported in the Footpath / pavement problem category anonymously at 12:59, Thu 7 November 2019
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council 6 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1836124.
I previously reported this same problem on 1st November and recieved a response from TfB on 4th November closing the query.
There is a huge puddle that forms on the south corner of the junction in even the lightest of rain showers. It spreads across the southbound lane of Packhorse Road and the pavement making the going difficult for pedestrians. Bearing in mind that this stretch of road only has a 40mph speed limit, when an accelerating southbound car drives through the puddle it sprays large volumes of water across the pavement and obviously anyone walking along it. This has been a problem since at least late September 2019 I would say this is so bad as to render the pavement unusable in wet weather.
In your initial response you said that this issue would be fixed as part of your cyclical gully cleaning programme. I am concerned to read that your gully programme operates on an annual rotation. That could mean that there will potentially be a very long wait before this problem is addressed. I remind you that in my initial report I wrote that in wet weather this stretch of pavement in question is, in my opinion, impassable.
Please can you tell me if anyone from your organisation has been to look at the problem I reported?
It is disappointing that despite you acknowledging that the problem has not yet been fixed, you still consider this enquiry to be "resolved." I ask that you keep the case open and please inspect the problem before closing the enquiry.
I hope you will give this enquiry further consideration.
