Pavement Greville Avenue Wendover, outside 1a, postcode HP22 6AG
Reported in the Footpath / pavement problem category anonymously at 11:04, Sun 10 November 2019
Received by Buckinghamshire Council moments later
On Wednesday 6th November at lunchtime we arrived home to find barriers blocking the pavement outside our house and blocking our drive. We couldn't get in or out and neither could our neighbours. We had no prior warning and neither had anyone else. There were 2 workmen there who didn't speak much English. Apparently they were working for Telent on behalf of BT Openreach laying fibre cable and expected to be finished in 2 days. Well there is now a trench across our drive and it's been there for 5 days already. The grass verge is ruined. Our post wasn't delivered on Wednesday and our food waste bin wasn't emptied on Thursday. We have no idea when the contractors will move on. Never seen any supervisors. I believe we should have been given 6 weeks notice. None given, although there is a sign at the end of the road with a notice number 5002831490 scribbled on it. So perhaps you could tell me what's actually happening and when it's due to end. When will our footpath be reopened and when they will fill in the trench and remove all their barriers. It's not much fun to find yourself in the middle of a construction site with no prior warning
