Beechwood Road
Reported in the Footpath / pavement problem category anonymously at 14:32, Thu 5 December 2019
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1876160.
In Beechwood Road the volume of cars parked means that it is the norm for people to park on the payment. This is aggravated by cars from residencies on West Wycombe Road and Woodview Close using Beechwood Road for parking. In my opinion some residents of the flats block (Wyclands House) are the main offenders but also visitors. That aside, because of the overwhelming volume of cars (in evening and overnight) people park over dropped kerbs and make entrance and exit difficult. All pedestrians have to walk in the road as pavements are totally blocked. I acknowledge that the local police leafleted residents back in February 2018 but the situation remains the same due to any lack of enforcement. I have put out signs politely requesting that driveway access is respected but these are often ignored. My question is, can I legally place obstacles, or have the pavement marked to ensure dropped kerbs are respected. At my own expense if necessary. I expect not, so if you can confirm nothing can be done I will move to my next plan of purchasing another vehicle (taxed and insured) to park in the road outside my house to prevent inconsiderate parking. Unfortunately, this will solve my problem, but make the lack of parking situation worse in general and not be an environmentally ideal solution.
