Hi This is a problem with a farmer not maintain a field/ditch I think. As you drive from the A421 by the kennels towards Water Stratford, there is a farme on the right. On the left is a field gate. Water is just continually coming from the gate area, on to the road and down the highway. This is causing 2 issues. It is starting to remove previously patched pot holes (which were caused by tha same issue a few years ago) so if this is not sorted, there will be raod repairs needed. And additionally, when we have a frost or cold weather, this stretch of road for 200 yds is very dangerous as the water from the field is freezing. Add to this, at the end of this stretch is an S bend, before long someone will be in the ditch. To make matters worse, this weekend it looks like the field has been accessed by farm vehicles and this has just bought lots of mud out on to the highway because the field entrance is so wet with the water mentioned above that is is now just turned the whole area into a quagmire. I appreciate the field is the issue here and this is not your problem as such, but I think the fact the water is running ontp the highway and the mud and ice when it freezes means you should put pressure on whoever owns this land to either sort the drainage out in the field of do something with the ditches to stop the water reaching the road and to drain correctly. I just feel if something isn't done soon then there will be an accident here or people's vehicles will be damaged.

Of course I meant A422 ;) Just to backup my report, this is still very bad. Go have a look on a frosty morning like the last few days and you'll see why I think it's dangerous. You can clearly see the issues are with the drainage in the field. The water is also lifting the potholes you have all ready repaired. The farmer should keep his land and ditches better drained and there wouldn't be this issue.

Just to update you on this issue..... Yesterday morning (Wednesday) the road has once again frozen over in the cold weather, but particularly worse after all the rain. Previous to this morning, it was easy to see the water from the field gate was worse following the bad weather. Yesterday morning it had frozen over. Sadly, as I predicted, there was an accident on the icy patches. Something needs to be done about this, and quickly. I reported this problem in the middle of December and absolutely nothing had changed. It's not like we've had a real bad cold snap yet. If we do, I dread to think.... This really needs rectifying ASAP. I appreciate it is almost certainly the farmers issue. But pressure should be put on them to put it right, not just leave it as it is as is currently the case. Because there will just be more accidents like the one yesterday and that is unfair on the innocent motorists. And you are going to be picking up road repair bills too. At the VERY LEAST, there should be temporary ice warning signs in both directions to give the motorist some hope of not ending up in the ditch. I know it's like it, so take it very carefully when it's icy, but still find it difficult to get around the corner without sliding.
