Junction of A413 with Watermead and Prince Rupert

Reported in the Traffic lights & crossings problems with timings category anonymously at 22:17, Sun 29 December 2019

Received by Buckinghamshire Council moments later

These traffic lights are incredibly inefficient outside of peak hours. When travelling on the A413 I am regularly stopped at red traffic lights when there is no other traffic. You need to improve the sensors at these lights to detect the presence of traffic which is waiting. In my opinion the lights for the A413 outside peak hours should be permanently green. Then if a car is detected on one of the joining roads (or waiting to make a right turn from A413) after 10 seconds or so the lights should change to allow that car to make the turn. Once this traffic has passed through the junction, the lights for the A413 should go green again, it shouldn’t continue the light cycle if there is no traffic waiting at the other road(s). Obviously a roundabout would fix this problem...
