Drains are not clearing surface water when it rains . I suspect the drains are partially blocked with leaves that have fallen from the trees . Three days after heavy rain the road was still flooded . Initially, the flood was across the whole road .

  • The gullies have been cleaned recently which will help . However the drains to the sewage system are completely blocked with leaves and other autumn debris which stops the water draining away , causing flooding even after moderate rainfall . The flooded roads is inconvenient for cars , dangerous for cyclists who can’t see flooded potholes and pedestrians are at risk of getting soaked by passings cars and trucks .
