Road Outside 23-27 Station Road
Reported in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 09:11, Sun 16 February 2020
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 2000908.
The road now floods almost completely (see photos) with any significant rainfall. Drains on both sides of the road are now blocked meaning there is nowhere for the water to drain other than onto private properties.
This persistent problem is now likely to give rise to the Council’s legal liability from motorists using the road in the event of accident, pedestrians who might slip on frozen water extending onto the pavement and also any flood damage to private properties from water flowing from the road under the tortious duty of care as established by the judgment in Rylands vs. Fletcher.
A similar report is apparent on this website from many months ago identifying blocked drains in this area and this has yet to be rectified.
