Flooding from blocked surface water drain
Reported in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 21:44, Thu 9 July 2020
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2193632.
With the rain today I am getting bad flooding in my back garden resulting from an underground drainage pipe being blocked and water escaping from a manhole. The water is surface water from the nearby road, the drain for which run across my property. Joe Connelly is aware of my case and arranged for the pipes to be jetted in Mar 2019. The problem has now re-occurred. Please let Joe Connelly know as he asked to be notified if the problem started again. I was advised last time that routine clearance by the council is required so therefore my property would be added to the cyclic programme but no one has jetted the pipes since March 2019. Since water is escaping from the man hole the drain pipes must be blocked and need jetting to clear.

With the modest rain on Saturday I again got bad flooding from the drainpipes carrying drain water from the main road. I have attached a picture of water escaping from the manhole located in my garden of 1A Sefton Paddock. The council has agreed routine clearance of the drainpipes but this has not been done since March 2019. Please arrange for the pipe to be jetted as soon as possible as it is becoming a major problem.

The underground pipes were jetted this week on 10th August 2020 but this has not solved the problem or cleared the pipes. With the rain this morning I am getting extreme flooding in my garden from the manhole. Please see attached pictures. Either the drain pipes are still blocked or the ditch where the pipes emerge in Stoke Park Business Park need to be cleared as they silt up and restrict water flow. You will see by the amount of water this needs investigation immediately, possibly by a camera survey.

With the modest rain this morning (Friday 29th January 2021) I again got very bad flooding from the drainpipes carrying drain water from the main road. I attach a photo for your information. You will note the flooding is covering a significant area of the garden and the amount of water from the inspection hatch is significant and dangerous to anyone close by.

It is the council responsibility to maintain the drainpipes. Your last update in January stated the repair has been added to your programme of works. It is now May and I am still waiting for the repair to be done. Please expediate the repair as the flooding is damaging my garden and is dangerous.

I am continuing to get serious flooding when it rains. On 18th June 2021 I again got very bad flooding from the drainpipes carrying drain water from the main road. I attach photos for your information. It is the council’s responsibility to maintain the drainpipes. On the 3rd June 2021 a tanker cleared the road drains. Workmen looked under the inspection hatch in my garden. They DID NOT jet the drainpipes from the inspection hatch. Two drainpipes are visible from the inspection hatch. One is completely blocked down route and the other is carrying a limited amount of water. My house is at the bottom of the hill, so when it rains all the water runs down from the road into the drain pipes under my garden and as the drainage through the pipe is insufficient I get very bad flooding in my garden. Also, where the drainpipes exit in Sefton Business Park, silt builds up and stops water exiting. I was told by the workmen that the matter would be referred to the local technician and I would be contacted by the following Tuesday 8th June 2021. No one has contacted me to date. Please action repairs, jetting of the pipe and clearing of the silt at the pipe exit. Please expediate the repairs as the flooding is damaging my garden and is dangerous as you can see by the amount of water in the pictures.
