Outside number 6 Westwood Road
Reported in the Street light not working category anonymously at 18:54, Sunday 19 July 2020
Received by Buckinghamshire Council moments later
I have previously reported a safety concern to Buckinghamshire Council back in January 2020 and 6 months prior to this date also.
I have an elderly parent in their 80s who lives in Westwood Road, SL7 2AT. The concern relates to a lamppost that was removed when Number 6 Westwood Road was demolished and rebuilt in 2018/2019.
The lamppost has never been replaced and there’s still barriers around the spot. I gather there are issues with other services underground which has caused the delay in replacing it.
I appreciate COVID-19 has no doubt caused further delay but could this be looked into and a rough timescale be given in terms of when the issue will be resolved.
My concern is, particularly in the darker months that it is pitch black at night making it very dangerous if you are walking along the street. This increases the risk of trips and falls (particularly risky when you’re in your 80s) as the pavements are not great and this is made worse if you can’t even see where you’re going.
Thank you for your report which is currently under review.
We will investigate this and if you have provided an email address, we respond to you within 10 working days.
We will continue to update you by email (if provided) when your report reaches key stages.
