Surface water and drainage
Reported in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 21:49, Sat 25 July 2020
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2216693.
Hi,
1. Unfortunately, and despite your online report indicating to the contrary, I have no record of you ever contacting us regarding our last issue raised ref. 40132874. Could you please do so? The drains we reported remain badly blocked.
2. This evening storm water ran down Ferry Lane in what can only be described as torrent. We are told by neighbours this is a recurring problem. This time the surface water from the road started to run down the steps of my property - in part due to blocked drains/gullies (which despite us reporting in April haven’t yet been unblocked). However, there is also a more serious issue regarding a lack of gullies/drainage further up the road and the camber of it which means surface storm water is threatening our property.
Could someone please come back to us about this issue - including the last report raised in April. We have taken a recording of the torrent which we are happy to share. A photo is attached.
Many thanks

This has happened/is happening again now with a heavy torrent of surface/storm water running from the road, due to its camber and blocked gullies, into my property. Had I not put up defences my house would be flooded. This is not acceptable - particularly as the council seems to use a stretch of watercourse that runs through our property, which we own, to drain surface water.
Further, this issue means that the roads are strewn with debris, mud and stones which are clearly dangerous to pedestrians and drivers. I understand that the chair of Medmenham Parish Council has also raised the issue of blocked gullies with you already.
Understand that you’re busy but please can I have a response that doesn’t appear to be automated. Many thanks.
