Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2251984.
We recently reported what we believed to be an abandoned vehicle which has been parked opposite our driveway for almost five months. We received your report which said: Your open Abandoned Vehicle Report (reference 0663-8786-1947-2966) has been marked as closed. Closure Reason: Vehicle not deemed abandoned Thank you for your abandoned vehicle report. In this case we cannot consider the vehicle as abandoned as there is insufficient evidence for any action to be taken. We have seen nobody go to this car during the whole of this time, and we believe it may not even be roadworthy now, as the part of the brakes which can be seen through the wheels look very rusty. Initially we believed it to be legally parked, but we now realise that it is parked well within the legal 10 meter distance from the junction with Longfield - in fact it is only 1.2 meters away from that junction. This makes it dangerous for traffic emerging from Longfield as vision along the road to the right is severely impaired, making it difficult to see any approaching traffic. When we go out we have to wait up the road for other cars to pass it before we can get into our drive, and it is difficult to reverse in, which we prefer to do so that we can drive out forwards onto the road. Also, we have noticed that on bin collection days the whole road becomes blocked. It also means that all the traffic travelling towards Farnham Common has to drive on our side of the road. Our food delivery lorries also find it difficult to get into the drive so have to park on the road, which creates even more of a problem. Last week we were having some work carried out to our house, and our van driver found it extremely difficult to reverse out of our drive with this vehicle making the available road space very narrow. We would be very grateful if you could carry out an owner identity check and request that the owner removes the vehicle, or alternatively take steps to arrange for it to be removed by yourselves.
