Pedestrian crossing island 50yds up from A40 junction
Reported in the Bollards or railings category anonymously at 09:41, Thu 17 September 2020
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2298843.
The island has suffered a collision with a vehicle It is unlit and difficult to see along a thin stretch of road It may have live electrics as wires from the lamppost are exposed The remnanants of the lamppost remain in an extremely dangerous state which is a 1M long stub of metal at waist height bent over pointing to oncoming traffic in such a way as to fatally impale anyone who came in contact with it like a jousting spear In short an unlit island on a slope of a narrow road containing a metal spear combines to make a potentially fatal hazard. This has just been left by Bucks CC for months in this lethal state contrary to any risk assessment which should have been compiled Just remove this dangerous island altogether before it kills someone We don’t want it We don’t need it It’s in the wrong place It’s dangerous People keep hitting it What more evidence do you need Please do your job and safeguard the public Thank you
