In grass verge outside 42 Hale Road, Wendover, HP22 6NF

Received by Buckinghamshire Council moments later

Dear Sir, The Crab Apple tree outside 42 Hale Road has, for a considerable time, been swamped in Ivy. Approximately 90% of the visible foliage is Ivy. Over the years large sections have fallen off including in December 2018 when one of your crews came out to expertly deal with the substantial quantity of debris. Close by the tree, in the same section of verge, are situated an electricity pole and a BT telephone pole. Cables from both poles run through the crown of the tree and the telephone pole and cables in particular are now under considerable strain. Yesterday, Sunday 20th September, UK Power Networks had to send a crew to remove weighty branches from the line supplying my neighbour with electricity. This line passes over my front garden. The crew worked until past 2200. I cannot emphasise enough the extent of the Ivy on this tree. It is not possible to touch the trunk of the Crab Apple because of the depth of the Ivy stems. I do wonder if it has any future given its problems. Please is there any remedial action you could take? I fear however, that it may be beyond saving and perhaps should be felled before anything potentially more serious happens.

Thank you for your attention.

Yours sincerely,

Nicholas Richardson
