The river bank abutting the bridge on Watery Lane/Old Watery Lane has been used all summer (2020) as a 'water sports' playground by groups of up to 6 children, with a rope permanenetly fixed to a river bank tree. This has resulted in incessant shouting and screaming in the river and under the bridge both day and evening. Not only is this hugely noisy and anti-social for very close residents, but the water could also be a health hazard to the children as, apart from the pretty fauna, there are rats. Minor injuries, cuts etc have occurred that have resulted in minor wounds turning septic. The constant use of this area of bank has created a large gap in the foliage that facilitates the dumping of large items into the river e.g.a very large B & Q trolley, which within a few hours had collected a large amount of debris. If not removed as soon as possible by residents (which they are) a real blockage would occur. Also Moorhens had to abandon their regular nesting place. Please could access to this area of riverbank be prohibited in some way?
