Dangerous parking issues either side of The Old School driveway
Reported via desktop in the Road lines / road markings category anonymously at 14:03, Wed 14 October 2020
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2340717.
My neighbours on the other side of the road regularly park their windowless vans either side of my driveway, often going beyond the dropped curb. This creates a dreadful visibility hazard to both myself accessing or leaving my drive, as well as parents walking or driving their children to the adjacent St James & St John primary school.
They regularly park over the worn out school zig-zag lines on one side, and leave their vans for days on end over the other side. I have had numerous 'near misses' with busses, parents with toddlers, other vehicles - but unfortunately, despite asking them to leave me some space, they refuse.
This has been ongoing for most of this year, and an accident is inevitable, likely to involve either a toddler or another car. Additionally, they park their commercial vans contrary to road regulations in terms of side of road / direction of vehicle.
I respectfully request the school lines to be repainted and a no parking line painted over my drive, fully including the start of each dropped curb to assist in the problem. The zig zag school lines originally end a couple of metres before my dropped curb, meaning no cars should park there anyway in school hours.
The road is narrow anyway, and whether I reverse out or drive or pull forward, their vans entirely block the road until I am on the other side of the road.
Additionally, pulling into the drive from the road is both difficult to manoeuvre, and their vans block all pedestrian visibility of my cars and of themselves to me.
If this is not the correct category for complaining, please be kind enough to redirect.
