Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2351908.
On Monday 19 October, two gentlemen in a highways maintenance van jetwashed the drain outside our house. I have the registration number if required. Prior to the jetwashing, they were spoken to by my wife who was at home. She explained that the drain from the road to the soakaway on our gravel drive had a cap on it as the soakaway previously when overwhelmed caused flooding in our garages where we have a lot of valuable electrical equipment. Clearly we did not want this to happen again. I have inspected the drain on our soakaway. The metal plates have not been bedded and they are probably resting on a small stone as the plate is proud of it's surround. In addition, the cap must have been dislodged as after what I consider to have been mild rainfall, overwhelmed both the drain and the soakaway and water pooled on our gravel drive and our garages were under threat of water ingress. A helpful gentleman in the highways agency called"Steve " was spoken to and he suggested I log my complaint with photographs which I have done. He suggested I protect my equipment in the garages with sandbags which I have done. The soakaway does not work. It is now after mild rainfall posing a threat to flood my garage and I would like the cap put back on as it has clearly been dislodged. There is a past history of this and would like communication by you and a swift resolution to the problem which has occurred since the drains were 'dredged/jet washed. The photographs show the blocked drain, water coming out of the soakaway, water pooling on our gravel drive and the sandbags that I have had to put in place.
