Railway bridge in Furze Lane, Winslow
Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights problem at temporary roadworks category anonymously at 09:26, Mon 30 November 2020
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2411021.
The traffic lights at the railway bridge are no longer in operation, covers have been put over them. Furze Lane is currently closed for East-West Rail works, 'Road Closed' signs at both ends, however the road is passable and the public are driving up and down it. This means having to negotiate the single lane railway bridge without being able to see oncoming traffic on the blind turn. What makes this doubly dangerous is that Furze Lane is currently coated in a layer of mud, from both EWR and Bloor Construction site trucks. That makes stopping quickly difficult going down the slope over the bridge, to avoid an oncoming vehicle. This is especially so when the road is affected by frost.

The temporary traffic lights at the bridge have been restored and are working. The newly installed permanent set of lights, one of several in Furze Lane now, from the bridge up to Lakers, have yet to be commissioned. The road widening works have been completed and the road is fully open to public traffic.
The recent rain has washed most of the mud from the road surface. Before that, I did see a road sweeper truck come out of the EWR compound and go over the bridge. The brushes made no difference to the mud coating. Water is needed.
