Outside Oakridge School
Reported via desktop in the Road lines / road markings category anonymously at 12:32, Sun 13 December 2020
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2429709.
I am the Headteacher at Oakridge School in High Wycombe. Like many other schools, we have carnage on the roads at peak times. We have really appreciated when a warden has been able to come up at these times to support with enforcing the rules. Unfortunately, at some point, I believe there will be an accident due to the selfishness of some drivers.
One aspect which is not helping is the yellow zig-zag lines outside the school. They have almost disappeared and need repainting to stand out. I would be very grateful if you could look into this.
Also from outside the school up to the turning into Deeds Grove (about 15m) we have a single yellow line, which I believe parents can park on for 3 minutes. If just one car parks on this single yellow line, it causes huge disruption to the flow of traffic which I see every day. As a result I get numerous parents and residents getting angry with me! If you agree to re-painting the zig zag line outside the school, please could they be extended to the corner of Deeds Grove or could this become double yellow lines.
Please can you look into these requests please. It would make the situation around Oakridge School much safer than it is at this present time.
