Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 14:33, Friday 15 January 2021

A manhole was replaced in 2019 at this site. The tarmac surround has since disintegrated and has now formed a worsening pothole.

  • Reference: 40152130. This problem is becoming worse day by day. As a result of the cold weather and hundreds of huge bulk carriers and 18 wheel pantechnicons, using the B488 as a rat run between the Leighton Buzzard area and the A41, the tarmac surround of the manhole has disintegrated completely. There is now a pothole at least 1 metre square with the manhole cover sitting in the middle. The noise of HGVs crashing through the pothole is deafening, and the vibrations caused are like an earthquake. Please could this huge hole be repaired urgently?

  • As before (27th January) the pothole is getting deeper and wider day by day. The innumerable HGVs that exceed the speed limit up and down Station Road (B488) are causing a serious environmental threat as a result of noise and vibration. This problem needs fixing urgently.
