Junction of Chiltern Rd (Amersham End) and A416

Reported via desktop in the Road lines / road markings category anonymously at 15:44, Thursday 20 May 2021

Received by Buckinghamshire Council moments later

A couple of months ago all the nearby roads had extended double yellow lines painted at the junction. Chiltern Rd has the markings for where the double yellow lines should have been extended to but they haven't been extended. This junction is the most in need of extended double yellow lines due to it being a parking / drop off road for 2 local schools, Our Lady's and the Beacon. Most mornings the junction is partially blocked by cars parking near the junction - cars coming in then being blocked by cars coming out on the wrong side of the road - and so forced to either stop abruptly in the main road or mount the pavement to round the corner - bringing them into direct conflict with primary school children walking to Our Lady's. This is a general road hazard which is made especially serious as it has a large number of primary school children crossing it. The council is obviously aware of the hazard as it has marked out the length the double yellow signs should extend to - but having done neighbouring roads has failed to ensure the Chiltern Road lines have been put in place
