Pedestrian Crossing Lights Red Lion Street
Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights & crossings problems with buttons, beep or lamps category by Cllr Wilford Augustus at 14:15, Sat 19 June 2021
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2803775.
The pedestrian crossing lights at Red Lion Street have been installed improperly; as pedestrians cannot see the status of the lights when crossing the street.
This is especially hazardous at night, when the acoustic traffic signal is switched off.
The two top crossing lights should face the street - across from each other - over the crossing, so pedestrians can actually have a visual signal - whilst crossing - and so they can know when the lights will change whilst crossing.
The two bottom signal lights should remain in the same position and direction of the button, facing the pedestrian whilst they are still standing on the pavements.
Thanks,
Cllr Wilford Augustus St Mary’s Ward Chesham Town Council
