The curb stones along the length of my property are flush (or slightly below) the road level. Gravity pushes the water round the drain and washes over the curb and into my property (see red arrow on photo). I believe the flood risk to my home would be significantly reduced if the curb was raised to keep rainwater in the road gully and flowing into the drain.
