On a daily basis we experience great difficulty pulling out of our driveway as vehicles and often commercial vehicles such as vans are parked directly on the verge outside our home (and others) which restricts all view and often is a game of Russian roulette hoping we’re safely pull out. It’s not helped by cars coming down the hill of Desborough very quickly!
More importantly we live opposite a road marking rule 130 stating by the high way code ‘Areas of white diagonal stripes or chevrons to separate traffic lanes or to protect traffic turning right. If the area is bordered by a broken white line, you should not enter the area unless it is necessary and you can see that it is safe to do so’.
We can’t help but wonder if a double yellow line policy should be considered at these hazardous part of the road as this rule is being broken and ignored on a daily basis due to the parked cars on the verges which are narrowing the road?
