Zebra Crossing by Widmer End School on Brimmers Hill
Reported via desktop in the Belisha Beacon broken category by Stephen Thorpe at 09:10, Thursday 16 September 2021
Received by Buckinghamshire Council moments later
At least 2 issues: 1. Whilst the Belisha Beacons are working the one I have identified on the map is blocked from view for cars coming up the hill - so may as well be broken. Need to urgently clear the trees back. 2. The School "flasher" sign on the corner of Cedar Avenue and Brimmers Hill was not working at 08:42 when I took the photo. This needs urgent repair. Don't know whether it isn't working at all or it is timing.
I consider this one issue as for cars coming up Brimmers Hill there is no functioning warning of the Zebra Crossings. This is an urgent safety issue.
(Don't know if the other flasher is / isn't working)

This is an ongoing dangerous situation, and nothing has been done. There are two separate issues: 1. The flashing light on the school sign are not working. Bucks CC acknowledge this is their problem - but please advise when these will be fixed. 2. Vegetation is blocking the view of the Beletia Beacon on the Zebra crossing. Bucks CC advised "Unfortunately the minor vegetation clearance around the pole is not the responsibility of Transport for Buckinghamshire. The Local Government Act 1972 provides for local authorities to arrange for some of its activities to be delivered by another local authority and it is this power Buckinghamshire Council are using to devolve a range of transportation activities (including urban grass cutting, unauthorised signs/ flyposting removal, hedge cutting/enforcement and some weed spraying) to Town and Parish Councils." Our contact with Hughenden Parish Council advised " I'm sorry to say, but this issue is absolutely the responsibility of Bucks Council, or more specifically Transport for Bucks (TfB)" So the two councils are pointing the finger at each other and nothing is being done!
Could this problem please be sorted out as it is an ongoing safety issue for all crossing this Zebra crossing.
