Driveway Apron/Approach to 769 Bath Road, Taplow
Reported via desktop in the Footpath / pavement problem category anonymously at 12:41, Thu 23 September 2021
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3020471.
I reported a problem under reference 40173603, however I am not satisfied that my issue was looked into in much detail. No one from council liaised with me to understand the extent of the problem and it was closed on the system with very little comments.
I would like to express my concerns again, the driveway apron from the crossover has a raised profile (it has a hump) which is scrapping vehicles as the vehicle enter and leave the driveway. It should be noted that the raised profile is not in accordance with The Highways (Road Humps) Regulations Act 1999. The regulations act states that the highest point should not be more than 100mm, however in this case the profile/hump is much higher and therefore scraping onto the undercarriage of the vehicle as it enters and leaves the property. Note that this issue does not only affect the residents but also impacts visitors, including family and friends.
This issue has occurred due to council’s failure to maintain apron, pathways and crossover outside of the property. I can make myself available at any time to highlight the problem to council’s representatives and will also be willing to demonstrate the issue by entering and leaving the property in a vehicle. Please note that I drive a normal family vehicle which is no way has been modified or lowered. This issue is simply due to council’s negligence.
Please also refer to the attached photographs, 2 of which outline a elevated/hump profile and another photograph showing marks of where the vehicle undercarriage scrapes the surface of the road.
