The Single Red Brick House at Scotsgrove Hill immediately before Scotsgrove cottages

Reported via desktop in the Hedge problem category by Thomas Bonnett at 12:15, Friday 24 September 2021

Received by Buckinghamshire Council moments later

I have repeatedly reported the severe lack of visibility for drivers exiting right from Scotsgrove cottages communal driveway onto the A418 and heading towards Thame. The visibility issue is solely caused by the vegetation and private hedges which have been left to spread and grow out from the boundary of the red brick house at the top of scotsgrove hill. The owner has been asked to do something about the hedges to give residents of scotsgrove cottages the benefit of increased visibility of traffic heading up scotsgrove hill from Thame on the A418 but nothing has been done. This now needs to be escalated to a mandatory clearance of the hedges back to the original boundary line. The speed limit at scotsgrove on the A418 was reduced last year from 60mph to 40mph yet nobody takes any notice of the reduction. The traffic is horrendously fast, especially HGV's who thunder past the cottages day and night. We need increased visibility of traffic flying up the scotsgrove hill from Thame on the A418 and we need speed enforcement to be introduced in the 40mph zone to make the speed reduction effective. I have written reporting these same issues for the past two years and still nothing is done to rectify them. Someone will be seriously injured or will die on this road if simple changes to the auction and visibility are not made.
