Hedge dangerously overhanging the road

Reported via desktop in the Hedge problem category by Steph Gassor at 12:45, Sunday 17 October 2021

Received by Buckinghamshire Council moments later

Good afternoon. Hedge bordering Buckingham Road/Leonard’s Close. A year ago I reported the aforementioned hedge and how dangerous it had become and a decision was made by yourselves not to cut it back. I again complained in May as the hedge had grown further and also was now in full bud. Again a decision was made not to cut it back. This is the 3rd time I have reported it. It now has a large chunk of tree or Bush hanging across the road towards Leonard’s Close, plus the road sign that indicates the bend is covered completely. The vision splay for the houses that border Buckingham Road is severely hampered, for example I now have to have the front of my vehicle on the centre white line in order to be able to see to the left for vehicles on the road. Given that this is a haul route for HS2 HGVs this has become a lethal point in the village. Due to the over hanging hedges on this stretch two HGVs cannot pass each other without one having to give way. We are also a school bus route and the same applies. Years ago a local farmer always kept it cut back annually to the ditch that is now fully covered. Can you please make this hedge a priority before winter comes.
