The drainage works

Reported via desktop in the Road surface category anonymously at 13:20, Monday 25 October 2021

Received by Buckinghamshire Council moments later

There is no way for emergency vehicles to get past. This is a significant risk, especially in the case of fire, as the alternative routes take around 20 minutes and include winding, potholed, single track roads. This is unacceptable to the people being put at risk.

The works vehicles should be moved to one side of the road and a ramp and temporary surface laid on the grass verge. We need this done today.

  • This road is still blocked. Emergency vehicles cannot get through. You said someone would deal with it yesterday afternoon. You said someone would be in touch with me. Neither of those things have happened. Please unblock this road and/or get in touch with me as we agreed on the phone yesterday.

  • I have phoned you 3 times now - twice yesterday and once this morning. These people did not get a permit to close the road. Their permit was only to reduce the road to one lane with temporary traffic lights not to close it completely!

An emergency means something needs to happen IMMEDIATELY. Should a fire engine hang around while somebody moves this fencing and these cones? Should paramedics run, with all their equipment half way through the village? Or should we all wait while they take the country roads that have not been fixed. No-one has come out to deal with this. No-one has got back to me.

It feels like the safety and welfare of the people this side of the blockage are not important to the council.

Would you please deal with this and/or get back to me as you agreed to do?
