Footbridge over Canal Highbridge Road and bridge on Highbridge Walk

Reported via mobile in the Footpath / pavement problem category anonymously at 14:57, Thu 18 November 2021

Received by Buckinghamshire Council moments later

You cannot miss the bridges over the canal at Highbridge Road or Brookside Terrace. It is now 5 weeks since problems were reported to you by me (15th) October, the non slip slats for the surface of this bridge are now SERIOUSLY LOOSE AND DANGEROUS. There are at least fifteen slats that need immediate fixing. Can I remind you that when these bridges were built they did not have a non-slip surface. These bridges were built with a very oily hard timber. Oil and water DID NOT MIX as the first flurry of snow proved. It was then essential to put an alternative surface on the footbridges.

  • Slat number 4(four) is now fixed by one screw (fixer) it slides underneath those near by. Each slat should have 8 (eight) screws. Some have only three or four left. Both main canal bridge and Brookside terrace bridges are affected. Can you do it as an emergency today please.

  • LIKE THESE - 65 more screws at least for canal bridge. And 3 (THREE OR MORE) for Brookside Terrace. Just for a starter. We have had hailstones in last hour.
