Street light outside Greythorpe, Packhorse road, Gerrards Cross, SL98JF

Reported via mobile in the Footpath / pavement problem category by Guy Emerson at 17:00, Friday 7 January 2022

Received by Buckinghamshire Council moments later

In the early hours of 6th Jan workmen replaced a street light and were making very loud noises drilling holes until 4am. Is this I allowed without providing residents of notice? It woke us up several times.

When I inspected the work they have dug a hole and poorly repaired the hole. It is uneven and dangerous and not properly filled with tarmac. They have also left a pile of rubble next to the light, which should have been cleared and the pavement left in a state comparable without what it was like before.

  • Just as a follow-up, we had a power cut Saturday as one of the street lights was ‘steaming’. They cut the power to about 10 household at 4:25pm to fix it. However they did not inform anybody they just cut the power, d seeing it was pitch back. There does seem to be a pattern here of not considering residents at all.
