Poor condition of Hog Lane from Northchurch Lane to Chesham vale Road
Reported via desktop in the Road surface category anonymously at 14:02, Mon 14 March 2022
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3387076.
Photos do not show the extent of the damage to this road. there has also been an overhead line down since the storms a few weeks ago. Multiple potholes along this section of lane, numerous to itemise. The road has been poorly maintained for >24 years. It is a single track road but increasingly, vehicles pass each other by driving over the soft verges. This has generated widespread areas of collapse with water-filled mud on the sides. Some of the depressions are very deep and what was once green verges have been seriously damaged. As a result of the collapsed soft verges, the tarmac along the edge of the road is fracturing off, creating extra driving hazards. Please make clear passing areas for this single track road, repair the road surface and bank up the soft verges to discourage cars from driving over them. This will also give the vegetation (which used to include wild flower and bluebells) on the soft verges a chance of re-establishing plant cover. Consider traffic calming measures as the road is very much busier than it used to be and it is used a lot by vans, cyclists and horse riders. There is also an overhead line down since the storms a few weeks ago.
